A total of two people ever knew that this Defect Mogeko was female: Hasu and Yonaka.
Hasu, her best friend, had been the first to figure out that there was a reason behind her voice being pitched closer to Moge-ko's. It had been very, very simple for him: she was created as mogeko's opposite, and since mogeko was male... It only made sense, Hasu reasoned, and he hadn't rightly cared. Lord Prosciutto works in mysterious ways, he'd said, and he'd keep her secret. Because you're not an asshole, she'd thought.
He'd died, been killed, because nobody and nothing good survives for long in this castle. Not without some measure of guile, and Hasu had been completely innocent in a way that broke her heart because damn it, you were my best friend and the only one who truly understood even my other half couldn't do that hasu why didn't you hide
She'd told Yonaka the truth just before convincing the Missy to make a break for the seventh floor. She wasn't quite sure why for a moment, but as she was defeated by the monster that her idiot twin really was, as she was dragged off and lashed to the stake, she had some more time to think. It was damn simple, in the end: Yonaka was able to understand like Hasu did. They were both good people, they were able to understand things beyond themselves and their own wants, unlike her own counterpart. So, she thought hazily, at least one decent person's gotta get out of here with their life and the full truth. Someone's gotta keep fighting the good fight, even if it ain't her.
You understood, Missy, you're the last one who does, now get out of here alive and thwart that moron for both our sakes-
"...You could never understand."
"...Hmph. Light the fire."
